Participants profile: the target groups for the programme are students and youth between the ages of 16- 30 years.

Candidate from Nigeria for the exchange year are selected from the number of applicants after interview conducted by the ICYE secretariat.

BEING A VOLUNTEER
Participation in ICYE programme
All who accept the ICYE goal shall participate in the ICYE programme either as an exchangee i.e. one who goes on an exchange programme, or host family, one who receives an exchangee and offers a host situation or a co-worker, one who helps to develop the ICYE goals and commitments.

Voluntary service placements offered by ICYE include social work projects dealing with children and young people at risk, with the disabled, rural and health development projects, human rights organisations, peace associations, ecological projects, women's groups and solidarity projects.
